Doddington Hall and Gardens, near Lincoln is a superb Elizabethan mansion designed by the renowned architect Robert Smythson. The hall stands today as it was completed in 1600 with walled courtyards, turrets and gatehouse. Six acres of romantic gardens contain superb bow edge parterres, sumptuous borders and a wild garden, with a nature trail into the countryside.
