Welcome to the home of the outlaw Robin Hood!  Helped by his Merry Men, this medieval hero stole from the rich to give to the poor folk of the East Midlands. Released on 13th May 2010 Russell Crowe stars in the exciting new Ridley Scott film ‘Robin Hood’.  Visit the East Midlands and enjoy the medieval adventure for yourself!

From the 23rd March -31st October 2010 Visit Notttingham Castle and Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre to see costumes and memorabilia from the film.

This magnificent 17th century mansion was built on the site of the original Medieval Castle, with spectacular views across the city. Nottingham Castle is a now vibrant museum and art gallery.  There is also an exhibition of film memorabilia, sets and costumes which will be available from summer 2010.
 
Come and explore the ancient beauty of Sherwood Forest and imagine the lives of Robin and his Merry Men hiding out amongst the majestic oak trees. The largest and most famous of the 500 year old oaks is the Major Oak that according to legend was the meeting point for Robin and his outlaws.    
 

The Robin Hood Festival and The Robin Hood Pageant

Visit the Robin Hood Festival or the Robin Hood Pageant and take a trip back to the time of Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men. With live sword fights, jousting and many other medieval activities you could live for the day like the famous outlaws.
 
Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem
Carved out of the rock below Nottingham castle, this is thought to be the oldest inn in England and home to a ghost or two!  Robin Hood's adventures are said to have been shared here over a pint by locals, making the legend come to life. 
Explore a whole new world in the caves underneath Nottingham city and descend into the dark depths. See how these caves have been used and adapted over the Centuries by local people to escape and take refuge from the world above.
Experience the grisly crime and punishment of the days of Robin Hood, get a taste for the sinister and grim stories of Nottingham’s own outlaws in the building where they were judged, imprisoned and barbarically executed.
Visit the  Church of St Mary, said to be the site where Robin Hood and Maid Marian exchanged their wedding vows.  A stroll to the Library will uncover a statue of Robin Hood proposing to Maid Marian.
